Passengers with Special Assistance Needs

Within the category of Passengers with Special Assistance Needs (PNAE), there are various individuals who require additional attention during their travels. This includes pregnant women, nursing mothers, individuals with infants, the elderly, people with reduced mobility, persons with disabilities, and any other passenger who, due to specific conditions, has limitations in their autonomy during the trip.

Priority Boarding and Special Assistance

Passengers with special assistance needs (PNAE) have priority boarding. It is necessary to present yourself at the check-in counter within the timeframe established by the airline, carrying identification. If you need to travel on a stretcher, incubator, or use medical equipment such as oxygen, it is necessary to notify in advance.

Vehicles equipped with lifts and ramps are available for the boarding and disembarking of people with physical disabilities or reduced mobility. Passengers may use wheelchairs and other technical aids, subject to security inspection.

Disembarkation occurs after the other passengers, except on connecting flights. Airlines must ensure priority assistance from check-in to access to the public area after disembarkation, without allowing other categories to take precedence.

Indicate your need for Special Assistance

It is essential for these passengers to inform the airline of the need for special assistance at the time of booking the air service or at any time, provided they meet the following conditions:

● Notify at least 72 hours in advance if a companion or special medical care is needed, such as the use of a stretcher, oxygen, or other medical equipment. In these cases, it is necessary to present supporting medical documents, such as the medical information form (MEDIF) provided by the airline.
● Notify at least 48 hours in advance if other types of assistance are needed.

This information must be provided directly to the airline to ensure that all specific needs are properly met during the trip.
