Baggage issues

Learn how to proceed

Stay calm!

We know that baggage-related issues can occur during your trip. Therefore, it is important that you are aware of the proper procedures for dealing with these situations. We will provide some important information about lost, damaged, and stolen baggage.

Baggage loss

If your baggage is lost, it is important to immediately inform the airline about the incident. Proceed to the airline's counter or its representative, preferably in the arrivals hall or at a location indicated by them. Have your baggage claim check in hand. The airline is responsible for locating your baggage and delivering it within a maximum period of 7 days (domestic flights) or 21 days (international flights). If the baggage is not found within this period, you will be entitled to compensation, which must be paid by the airline within 7 days.

Damage or tampering of baggage

If your baggage is damaged or tampered with, contact the airline as soon as possible to report the issue. It is recommended to make the report in writing, preferably while still in the arrivals hall. This report can be made up to 7 days after receiving the damaged or tampered baggage. The airline is responsible for repairing the damage or replacing the baggage with an equivalent one in cases of damage. In the case of proven tampering, the company must compensate the passenger.

Baggage theft

In cases of baggage theft, report the incident in writing to the airline. They are responsible for the baggage from the moment of check-in until it is received by the passenger. Additionally, file a report with the Police, who are the competent authority to investigate the case. The airline will assist in the investigations and take the necessary measures to resolve the situation.
