The land of the magic of the Garantido and Caprichoso Bulls
Fly to Parintins: the land of the magic of the Boi Garantido and Boi Caprichoso
An island in the middle of the Amazon rainforest, on the banks of the Amazon River. This is Parintins, the “land of magic,” where the largest open-air folkloric event in the world takes place – the Parintins Folklore Festival. In the festival, which has been held for almost 60 years, the oxen Caprichoso and Garantido compete for the title of best boi-bumbá.
During the event, which always occurs at the end of June, the bumbás perform and compete in a vibrant spectacle filled with dance, music, and celebration of indigenous culture. Each performance offers a show rich in folklore and Amazonian traditions.
Also known as “Ilha Tupinambarana,” Parintins is the second largest city in the state of Amazonas. In addition to being recognized for the festival, the destination also features resorts located on the shores of lakes where visitors can explore ecotourism, also visiting riverside communities and getting to know the Amazonian fauna and flora.
The city provides a true immersion in Amazonian culture, allowing one to experience the magic of a grand folklore spectacle and direct contact with nature.
