Manaus Airport Hosts "Flying Higher" Discussion Circle, Celebrating Women's Month

One of the main programs focused on the inclusion of women in the aviation industry, as well as encouraging and giving voice to professionals in the sector, "Flying Higher" presented a Round Table edition in the auditorium of Manaus Airport, a member of the VINCI Airports network, this Friday, March 3. The activity marked the opening of Women's Month at the airport and was promoted by SITA, the leading IT provider for air transport, and the International Aviation Women's Association (IAWA), in partnership with the Airports Council International for Latin America and the Caribbean (ACI-LAC) and the Latin American and Caribbean Air Transport Association (ALTA). 

The event will be repeated virtually on March 8 for the other six airports in the Amazon, located in Rio Branco and Cruzeiro do Sul (Acre), Boa Vista (Roraima), Porto Velho (Rondônia), Tabatinga, and Tefé (Amazonas).

Led by Cristiane Dart, Vice President of Communications and Marketing at IAWA; and Head of DEI Communications (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) and Senior Marketing Manager at SITA in the Americas, the activity presented dynamics aimed at promoting debate on the current market situation and relevant aspects of women's presence in the aviation industry. During the round table, inspiring women working in the segment were highlighted with the purpose of contributing to the professional growth of the participants. "We proudly promote this initiative to reflect on the contemporary challenges of aviation in various areas and encourage women in the sector to feel comfortable sharing their stories, sharing their achievements, identifying what motivates them, and bringing inspiration with their journeys," highlights the executive, who has been working in the sector for over 20 years. 

Throughout March, in addition to the round table, the Women's Month program at the airport will also include the structuring of interactive spaces, lectures, and the screening of a mini-documentary with stories of women from the company. All activities will be aimed at employees, service company staff, and representatives of the airport community. 

Regarding the special program, the CEO of the Amazon Airports Concessionaire, a member of the VINCI Airports network, Karen Strougo, reinforces: "These debates that seek diversity are fundamental because they are completely aligned with the network's purposes of promoting balance and gender equality in the corporate environment with management focused on inclusion and diversity, allowing women to act freely, as they have made a difference in various segments."
