Amazon Airports Supports Scientific Event on Engineering in the Amazon

• Workshop on the Application of Geosynthetics in the Amazon will be broadcast live at the seven airports;
• The company supports the initiative by providing auditoriums and infrastructure for the event broadcast;
• The meeting addresses difficulties and challenges in construction in the Amazon region.

August, 2024 - The Amazon Airports Concessionaire, part of the VINCI Airports network, is supporting the Geosynthetics Workshop (Geossam 2024), promoted by the Aeronautics Institute of Technology (ITA) and other institutions. The event will take place on August 27 and 28 and will be broadcast at the network's seven airports: Manaus (AM), Tabatinga (AM), Tefé (AM), Rio Branco (AC), Cruzeiro do Sul (AC), Porto Velho (RO), and Boa Vista (RR).

The workshop is free and will address the challenges of construction in the Amazon region, solutions with geosynthetics (materials used in engineering to improve the stability and durability of soils and structures), and opportunities to expand technical knowledge. The Concessionaire supports the initiative and has specialists on the workshop's organizing committee, in addition to providing auditoriums and infrastructure for the broadcast, allowing the academic community and interested public to participate in the event.

The program, which will be shown on the Canal Geotecnia Brasil on YouTube, will include round tables with experts in environment, geotechnics, and geosynthetics, as well as presentations of selected papers.
