Airports Concessionaire in the Amazon Promotes Initiatives for LGBTQIAPN+ Pride Month at Northern Airports

• The program will take place in Manaus, Porto Velho, and Boa Vista and includes activities with employees and passengers;
• Actions reinforce the company's commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in the airport environment;
• Initiatives give visibility to stories and struggles of the LGBTQIAPN+ population.

The Manaus, Porto Velho, and Boa Vista Airports, which are part of the VINCI Airports network, will conduct a series of activities throughout June in honor of LGBTQIA+ Pride Month, focusing on promoting diversity and inclusion in the airport environment. The program includes activities aimed at employees and the airport community, as well as symbolic actions with passengers. 

The activities are coordinated by the Amazon Airports Concessionaire, responsible for airport management, and are part of the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Policy adopted by VINCI Airports at all airports under its management in Brazil.

Since the beginning of its operations in the region, the Concessionaire has had a Diversity Committee formed by employees. The group is responsible for proposing inclusive projects aimed at both the workforce and passengers, with an agenda that includes topics such as gender, racial issues, migrations, and the LGBTQIAPN+ population.

This year's program in Manaus will feature the "Pride Coffee," a discussion circle taking place on June 5, with representatives from Casa Miga – an LGBTQIA+ shelter, the Association of Transvestites and Transsexuals of Amazonas (Assotram), representatives from the Empregay collective, and historian Michele Pires, a PhD candidate at the Federal University of Amazonas (Ufam) and a member of Assotram. The activity is aimed at employees and members of the airport community.

In Porto Velho, the discussion circle will occur on June 2, with the participation of the President of the Free Citizen Community (COMCIL) and National Articulation Coordinator of RNTTHP – National Network of Transvestite, Transsexual, and Trans Men Living and Coexisting with HIV/AIDS, Karen de Oliveira. The three airports in the network in the North will feature environments with visual identification related to the theme. There will also be occasional gift distributions to passengers.
