As part of the commitment to reduce the environmental impacts of its operations, the Concessionária dos Aeroportos da Amazônia, a member of the VINCI Airport network that manages Manaus Airport, created an environmental incentive and recognition program for service providers. The first edition of the Sustainable Partner program selected Sodexo as the grand winner.
The program aims to evaluate and encourage the adoption of good environmental practices among outsourced companies operating at the airports. The initiative also meets the requirements of the ISO 14001 standard, especially regarding the environmental awareness of employees. The initiative is aligned with one of the main values of the airport network, which is to promote a positive socio-environmental impact on the planet.
Since April 2025, Sodexo has been responsible for cleaning and maintenance activities, baggage cart movement, and pest control at the airports managed by the Concessionária.
Among the criteria analyzed to determine the program's winner are the effectiveness of environmental training, the practical application of guidelines in daily operations, and compliance with the environmental guidelines established by the concessionaire. As part of monitoring environmental goals, the Concessionária conducts field inspections to verify compliance with environmental standards, monitors companies' commitment to sustainability practices, and identifies any non-conformities. Participating companies are evaluated quarterly.
The Environmental Manager of VINCI Airports in Brazil, Alessandra Reis, highlights: “We understand this program as a powerful and strategic tool to achieve our environmental goals. It is an incentive for partner companies operating at the airports to join us in the commitment to reduce the environmental impacts of our operations and act for a more sustainable future.”
