Concessionaire of Amazon Airports celebrates four years of operation with advancements in the aviation sector and commitment to socio-environmental initiatives

   Modernization of terminals, route expansion, commercial expansion, and a focus on socio-environmental actions mark the first four years of operation of the Amazonas Airports Concessionaire, part of the VINCI Airports network, in Amazonas. During this period, the company consolidated the largest package of airport infrastructure investments ever made in the region, with infrastructure works, acquisition of new technologies, operational improvements, and sustainable practices, positively impacting the experience of thousands of passengers. 

In the airports of Manaus, Tabatinga, and Tefé, the investments contributed to the expansion of the Amazon's air connectivity, helping to transform the region into an important regional air integration hub, with safer, more efficient, and sustainable operations. 

The Manaus Airport, for example, recorded a 17% increase in passenger traffic, comparing the period from January to September 2025 with the same period last year. Landings and takeoffs operations also grew. There were 23.4 thousand flights, an increase of 6.8%. Among the main factors for growth are the expansion of the air network with national and international flights, including the addition of flights to Bogotá and Lisbon, daily trips to Panama City, and the seasonal flight to Miami.

In parallel to this growth, the airport is experiencing a commercial revolution. A new mix of national and international brands is transforming the terminal, with store options featuring international, national, and regional brands.

The Cargo Terminal, the third largest in the country, continues to record advances. Last year alone, approximately 140 thousand tons of products were handled for various economic segments, including imports and exports. A highlight of the sector during this period was the 10% reduction in the average cargo release time, with cargo leaving the terminal within 48 hours of arrival, made possible by the adoption of new equipment, procedures, and security measures.

A new socio-environmental perspective 

All this growth has been accompanied by a commitment to initiatives that generate a positive socio-environmental impact, one of the company's pillars. 

In Manaus, the innovative rainwater reuse program for the cooling system won the international Green Airport award in 2024. The technology used in the system also resulted in the 31st SMACNA Highlights of the Year Award in October this year. Also in 2025, the airport was recognized by the National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC) as the most sustainable in Brazil in its category. 

The Concessionaire also adopted important social and cultural initiatives in the region. The cities of Tefé and Tabatinga were the first beneficiaries of reading labs, structured by CEC Brasil, supported by the concessionaire. The project, which also includes a unit in Cruzeiro do Sul (AC), involves a total investment of R$ 1.2 million, through the Culture Incentive Law, and is benefiting more than 3,000 students and teachers.

In Manaus, the concessionaire supported actions of the Sports and Education Institute (IEE), through the Sports Law, with the annual training of physical education teachers, indirectly benefiting about 2,000 children and young people from the public network. In the Trilhando Sonhos Project, with support through the Children's Fund, the Renovar Institute is training adolescents in vulnerable situations, offering professional qualification and emotional support.

In Tabatinga, the Évare project reached its second edition in 2025, offering free computer courses for young indigenous people of the Tikuna people, in a laboratory installed at the airport. Created in partnership with the Amazonas Technological Education Center (Cetam), the initiative promotes digital inclusion and appreciation of traditional culture and is benefiting 40 young indigenous people.
