Manaus Airport holds 1st 360° Security Workshop focusing on the cargo terminal

Manaus Airport, managed by Concessionária dos Aeroportos da Amazônia, part of the VINCI Airports network, held the 1st 360° Safety Workshop this Thursday (09/25), focusing on strengthening the safety culture at the Cargo Terminal (TECA). The event brought together employees from operational areas to discuss issues such as risk perception, emergency plans, and cargo theft prevention.

The program included lectures on Civil Aviation Security (AVSEC), Occupational Safety, and Emergency Response. The initiative follows the company's policy, which has safety as a central pillar and maintains integrated 24-hour monitoring and emergency systems, in addition to rigorous procedures to reduce risks and incidents.

Regularly, the operational teams of the airport and the cargo terminal undergo drills that assess emergency response time and integration with state and federal security agencies. The exercises help test the effectiveness of the contingency plan and promote continuous improvements in prevention and rapid response.

In 2024, the concessionaire led the production of an unprecedented document with the best practices for prevention and security exercises at Brazilian airports, resulting from the work of the Brazilian Group for Civil Aviation Security against Acts of Unlawful Interference (BASEeT), maintained by the National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC).

For the Operations Manager of Manaus Airport, Overlach Campos, the safety culture at Manaus Airport is a non-negotiable value and applies to all areas of the airport. “Our safety standards follow high international levels and provide more confidence in our operations, both passenger and cargo. The Cargo Terminal at Manaus Airport is the third largest in the country and handled around 140,000 tons of products in 2024 for various sectors of the economy, including imports, exports, and domestic cargo.
