Manaus Airport launches award to recognize excellence in cargo logistics of the Industrial Pole

• The award is aimed at companies and professionals from various categories;
• The launch will take place with the presence of business sector representatives, authorities, and opinion leaders;
• Manaus Cargo Terminal is the third in the country in terms of movement.

The Cargo Terminal of Manaus International Airport, part of VINCI Airports, is launching the Tucandeira Award for Logistics Efficiency, an initiative aimed at recognizing companies and professionals who stand out in the air cargo logistics chain of the Manaus Industrial Hub (PIM). The award will be presented to the business community on the upcoming July 17th, at 7 PM, at an event at the Palácio Rio Solimões, in the Palácio Rio Negro Cultural Center.

The award values and encourages operational efficiency, collaboration among chain agents, and commitment to sustainable practices. 

In total, eight categories will be covered: OEA, Automotive/Transport/Two Wheels, Technology, Metal-Mechanical and Miscellaneous and General, Highlight in Import, Highlight in Exporter, and Highlight in Sustainability. Information collection with participating companies and professionals begins in August 2025, over 12 months of evaluation. The first edition of the award will have its results announced in the second half of 2026.

In addition to the trophy, winners will receive the Tucandeira Seal of Logistics Efficiency. The name of the award refers to the giant Amazonian ant used in the initiation ritual of the Sateré Mawé indigenous people, a symbol of strength, discipline, and resilience, fundamental components in logistics.

The Amazonian capital has the third largest and most important Cargo Terminal in Brazil. The unit operates 24 hours a day and is responsible for a large part of the flow of industrialized products from the Manaus Free Trade Zone to the rest of Brazil and the world. In 2024, the terminal handled 140,000 tons of cargo.

Since taking over the management of the airport, the Airports of the Amazon Concessionaire has invested in improvements in the cargo sector, focusing on safety and efficiency. The adoption of new equipment, procedures, and security measures has allowed for a reduction in airport processing time to up to 48 hours after arrival.

The Cargo Manager of the Cargo Terminal, Thiago Brandão, highlights: "The award is an important tool to identify and value practices and professionals who make a difference in the air cargo sector, further promoting this essential segment for our region. In parallel, we remain focused on improving the activities of the cargo terminal, allowing companies to continue growing and our economy to keep developing."
