Manaus is the Brazilian capital with the most connectivity in flights within its own State

• Survey identifies 14 cities in Amazonas connected from Manaus Airport 

• Result is the outcome of joint efforts between VINCI Airports, the Government of Amazonas, and airlines

• VINCI Airports aims to promote regional connectivity and economic development in the cities where it operates.

Manaus is establishing itself as the first Brazilian capital with the most flights to destinations within its own state: 14 cities are connected by the air network of Manaus Airport. The data comes from a recent survey conducted by the Concessionaire of the Amazon Airports, a member of VINCI Airports, which operates the terminal and covered all 27 airports of Brazilian capitals.

In second place in the ranking is Salvador Bahia Airport, also part of VINCI Airports, with 12 cities, followed by the airports of Belo Horizonte (11), Belém (10), and Cuiabá (7).

The cities with direct flights departing from Manaus are: Tabatinga, Parintins, Tefé, Coari, Apuí, Manicoré, Borba, Eirunepé, São Gabriel da Cachoeira, Barcelos, Maués, Carauari, Porto Urucu, and Santa Isabel do Rio Negro. There are also technical stops in São Paulo de Olivença. In these locations, the other transportation option is by river, which takes many hours of travel in contrast to the speed of air travel. 

Since the concession of the airports to VINCI Airports, Manaus Airport has increased from 21 destinations to 32 destinations, 14 of which are to cities in Amazonas.

The Marketing and Air Promotion Manager of VINCI Airports in Brazil, Marcus Campos, states: “This result is the outcome of a joint effort between VINCI, the Government of Amazonas, and the airlines, promoting regional connectivity and the socioeconomic and cultural development of these cities.” He also highlighted the investments by the Government of Amazonas in the modernization of airports in the interior.
