New Cargo Terminal Service Speeds Up Cargo Clearance for the Manaus Industrial Hub

Offered by the Manaus Airport Cargo Terminal, part of VINCI Airports, the urgent cargo service for companies has been gaining more and more traction among the industries of the Manaus Industrial Pole. The innovation establishes an express corridor that ensures importers of industrial inputs from abroad can have their goods released within six hours after the plane lands.

The express service aims to meet the demand of industries by eliminating risks of stoppages or financial losses due to delays in the delivery of inputs and equipment. It was also a way to help the sector vital to the Amazonian economy deal with the challenges posed by the severe droughts of the Amazon rivers, which ended up contributing to the increase in the volume of imported cargo handled at TECA.

The “Quick Service” allows critical cargo to be treated with priority in a dedicated flow within the cargo terminal itself. When they arrive at the airport, the input cargo goes through internal processes of reception, separation, and availability. After that, they still need to go through customs clearance. With the urgent cargo service option, the time is shortened to prevent production lines from stopping or delays in the logistics chain. The third largest of its kind in the country, the TECA of Manaus Airport handled about 140 thousand tons of products just last year, operated for various segments of the economy, including imports and exports. The airport receives about 170 cargo flights per month from various parts of the world.
